Constructed on several levels using 1-3 ton Pennant Sandstone from the Forest of Dean as retaining walls; hardwood railway sleepers as steps with Cotswold chippings as decorative covering. PLANTING: Palm trees, Olive trees, Yuccas, Acacias, Cordylines and Agaves.

Paving, dry stone wall, pond - before

The old brick wall with steps through the middle was taken down and a new winding path to the top was created. (See next two images for after.)

A new winding path to the top was formed using purbeck paving. We also used purbeck to build a dry stone wall to hold back the soil. Yorkstone Boulders were used along the edge of the path and where appropriate to hold back the soil and to create areas of interest for planting.

A pond was built with a cascading waterfall and an Indian Sandstone circle was laid on the top level and finished off with decorative Scottish pebbles. The fencing on both sides was also replaced.

The main objective for this garden was low maintenance. Black granite setts were used for edging with slate as ground covering. Planting consisted of Buxus hedging, grasses, cordyline & bamboo.
